Microsoft Makes Several Enhancements To Outlook.com

After developing Outlook.com, Microsoft has been able to attract millions of users from other service providers. This is mainly due to the rich features incorporated in the email account and the software giant is constantly working on further improvements. The company has now released three more features for this email service. These are ‘Advanced Rules’, ‘In-line reply’ and the ‘Undo’ feature. Let us go through each of these features in detail.

In-line reply option

With this newly introduced feature, a user can reply to an email thread without having to open a new view and look into the entire history of the conversation. With this, users can save a lot of time and make communication quicker and effective.

Undo Option

According to Outlook help desk, this feature could be a great help if you accidentally move or delete an email. The program adds a new button for the ‘Undo’ function that will help users to reverse their actions. The program also offers the shortcut keys ‘Ctrl’ and ‘Z’ for this function.

Advanced rules options

With the new advanced rules, it has become easier for users to sort emails. Users can choose from a wide range of rules for their emails and this will help them manage their emails easier. Some of the conditions available for users include email tallying, unread state of emails, check whether the sender is in the list of contacts of the receiver and constraints, to name a few.

Improvements with personal messages

Personal messaging has also been made simpler with the new improvements on Outlook.com. The left bottom corner of your screen will now show up the list of persons with which the user can chat. It simply requires the click of a button to initiate a chat. In addition, the users can swap services more efficiently. Another enhancement, according to Outlook help desk, is the ability to filter and find users through different services like Facebook, Skype etc. Users can also find out who all are online from the icons next to their contact names. This icon will also help users to find out which all options like chat, call or video call are available for each user.

With the new improvements, Microsoft is hoping to attract more users to its email program. With the new additions, Outlook.com has certainly become the better option while comparing other service providers like Gmail. However, we are yet to find out how many users would make a switch to Outlook.com.
