Repairing Hyperlinks In Outlook Express

Outlook Express is the most popular email application client of Microsoft. Many of the business and personal users use this application for many personal and business uses. However, like other applications, it also shows some Outlook Express problems, especially with the bad-hyperlink conundrum. In all email clients, the hyperlink will be a clickable link, which when clicked will take you to the respective web address or to the email address. Well, given below are some easy instructions that will help you to repair hyperlinks in Outlook express.

Instructions
  • Navigate to the Windows Start button and click the option called Control Panel. From the Control Panel option, you need to open the Folders Options by clicking it. 
  • Now, you need to click the tab called File Types. 
  • Now, from the list of registered file types, select the option called (NONE) URL. 
  • Next, you need to click the button called Advanced. 
  • Now the dialog box named Edit File type will appear on your screen. 
  • Next, click the button that is labeled Edit. 
  • Type it there, if you cannot find any word that is labeled Open in the dialog box called Action. Type Open with no period. 
  • Make sure that you enter the text C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe - nohome in the text box labeled Application Used to Perform Action. If it does not contain any text, then you need to type the text as “C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe.”- nohome. 
  • Now, you need to check mark the option that is labeled Use DDE. 
  • Make sure that the DDE Message box contains the text "%1",,-1,0,,,,” Type this text, if you cannot find any. After typing, this is how it looks "%1",,-1,0,,,, 
  • Also, make sure that in the Application box, you type the text called IExplore. 
  • Try to check whether the box named DDE Application Not Running is kept empty. 
  • Finally, click the button called OK. 
  • From the tab called Files, you need to select the dialog box named Folder Properties and from the Registered File Types list; you need to choose (NONE) URL: HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy. 
  • Continue the steps 1 to 12. 
  • Finally, to close the Folders Option dialog box, click the button called OK.
